USE OF PHOTOS: I have the utmost respect for the right of every artist to retain ownership and control over his or her work, including the work of photographers. It is never my intent to infringe upon or exploit someone else’s work.
I have never had the honor of meeting Russell Brand and obviously do not have access to photos of Mr. Brand which I’ve taken on my own. However, I do make every attempt to use photos which appear to be available for public use, including: (1) Promotional photos which appear to have been released by Mr. Brand and/or his publicists for media and promotional use; (2) photos of book or DVD covers, which I don’t believe Mr. Brand or the companies involved in distributing his books or DVDs would mind being used in a way which helps to promote Mr. Brand’s work; (3) photos which have been released to the public domain by the copyright owner; or (4) stills from movies or DVDs, which it is my understanding are available under “fair use” laws, which permit the limited use of copyrighted material for certain purposes, e.g., using a brief quote from a novel when writing a review of that novel.
If you believe any of the photos on the site are not available for use and/or are posted in violation of your copyright, please let me know and I will immediately remove the photograph from the site.
Trying to put together a visually-appealing website in honor of someone of whom I have no photographs of my own, without infringing on others’ work, poses somewhat of a difficulty. So, if you have any photos of Mr. Brand you’d be willing to share (assuming you own the rights to the photos), I’d be happy to credit the photographer and would be forever grateful.
