Listen to Russell Brand on TalkSport Radio

Category: Audio, Bits and Bobs |

Russell Brand and Noel Gallagher will broadcast a two-hour special on TalkSPORT radio this Sunday, April 19th, 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. UK time.

Exciting news! Thanks to modern technology, wherever you are in the world, you can stream the show live! Just click here to listen: TalkSPORT.Net Media Player

I’m in California, so I’l be listening starting at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. If you live elsewhere in the world, check out The World Clock to calculate the difference between London time and your own.

Brand and Gallagher, guitarist for the rock band Oasis, are avid football fans. Brand is a lifelong supporter of West Ham, while his pal Gallagher supports Manchester City. The two struck up a friendship in 2007, when Brand began to track Gallagher down by phone nearly every day as part of his BBC Radio 2 program.

TalkSPORT has promised “a heavy dose of cutting-edge comedy and controversial commentary.” Program Director Moz Dee said of the upcoming program:

“TalkSPORT welcomes Russell back to radio. He’s a unique talent who understands the medium brilliantly, and together with Noel Gallagher, it’ll be a must listen. Both are proper football fans who just happen to be two of the most creative minds in popular culture.”

Brand also pens a weekly sports column for the Guardian. I’m barely an American football fan, let alone a British football fan, but Brand combines humor and his love of the sport to create a column that’s entertaining and informative, no matter your persuasion. I found this week’s column, The Thrill of How the Mighty Are Fallen, as I admittedly find most anything Brand does, brilliant.
